Junior Advisory Board (JAB)

The Junior/Youth Advisory Board (JAB) plays a key role in supporting and developing junior tennis across South Canterbury. Working alongside Tennis South Canterbury, the JAB helps plan, coordinate, and oversee competitions, tournaments, and representative opportunities for young players.

The JAB is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of junior interclub competitions, including coordinating entries, preparing draws, managing results, and overseeing match-day operations. They also support the delivery of junior tournaments, working closely with Tennis South Canterbury and wider tennis bodies to plan schedules, manage entries, appoint officials, and ensure facilities are in place.

In addition, the JAB contributes to the organisation of junior representative teams, including selection processes, logistics such as travel and accommodation, and team management. Across all areas, they help maintain a positive playing environment, support communication with clubs, and assist in resolving any issues that may arise.

The Tennis South Canterbury Administrator provides ongoing support to the JAB, with strong communication and collaboration with local clubs being essential to the success of all junior programmes.
